Hi you! Perhaps you're here today to learn a thing or two about choosing the right supplier to customise your neon sign, or simply just to find out more.
Traditionally, neon lights first discovered in London around 1898 and used in the 1900s. It emits light through a tube, running a mixture of the gasses, mainly argon and neon gas. Different gasses are used to create different colours of neon. There are plenty of misconceptions of a gas type neon, and if you'd ask me, gas neons are safe to use when treated with care.
Although Gas type Neon lights are safe to use, it's not the case when it chips or breaks. Once broken, mercury is released, and can be harmful to others around. Welding and bending glass tubes are also expensive and requires the trust that sanitary and safe conditions are met during production.
On the other hand, LED neon lights and LED neon signs are 100% worry free and safe to use as it consumes less energy, durable, portable, light and easy to handle. LED neon lights creates the lighting effect of glass neon lights but do so in more energy saving and efficient way.
LED neon lights are created by bending silicone bendable neon flex lights, which are what all suppliers use. It's bended, shaped and plastered on a backing, typically an acrylic backing. Here are the neon strips that we use.
So in summary, here are advantages of neon signs over traditional neon gas signs:
LED Neon signs are:
safe
inexpensive
eco-friendly
less electricity
durable
waterproof
light
portable
